I have always highly respected April and her work. I’ve been with her since 2020, followed her from SBA Dermatology, with yearly maintenance appointments. Unfortunately her staff is a different story. Her scheduler Elizabeth Salgado is unprofessional, I am truly still in shock about the entire situation. As a medical professional myself I cannot fathom myself acting in such a way. I reached out via the scheduling email on January 26th, requesting an appointment while also explaining my concern with lip filler migration (which is not unusual as I initially met April in 2020 to dissolve migration) Ms. Salgado responded that I had more filler than what I had on my last appointment in January 2025. At this point I called the scheduler, as I did not feel communication was going well via emails. I confirmed to her the last filler appointment I had was in fact the one with April. I then asked if there was a way to do a consultation or speak with April directly regarding my concern as I was unsure if I would need to dissolve or she would be able to fix my lip shape by adding more. Ms. Salgado requested i write an email about “my feelings” and that she would share it with April. I found it an odd request and wondered why she wouldn’t just relay the information, however I did so, as asked. The communication was upsetting and I waited a whole three weeks without any follow up. I call back on February 16th. I inform Ms. Salgado who I am and that I had not heard anything back, she then asked me to refresh her memory. I began explaining our conversation, and she states yes she remembers and she needs to get with April. I ask her when can I expect to get a call back and she said she would get with her today. I call back on February 17th. I left a voicemail. I happen to call on my secondary phone and received an answer. Ms. Salgado states she hadn’t talked to April yet, I tell her this is very unprofessional and upsetting as it had already been 3 weeks. I ask her if I can proceed with booking a dissolving appointment, and she responds there are no appointments this week. I mentioned the online booking site had openings. She put me on a hold. When she returns she says she cannot book the appointment before talking with April because she will get in trouble. I ask if I can talk to someone else. She says it’s just her and April. She then tells me she has a patient in front of her and cannot stay on the phone. Hours later I get an email from April stating “After careful consideration, we have determined that we are not the best fit to meet your ongoing care needs. For that reason, we will no longer be able to provide treatment or schedule future appointments. We wish you the very best moving forward and encourage you to seek care with a provider better aligned with your goals.” I have been with April for 6 years with zero issues. I have been discharged from her care with no explanation. I believe there is purpose behind all things and as emotional of an experience this was, I trust and have complete faith in God in knowing I did not need to go back to this practice. Your staff reflect you. I responded with a request for my medical records to take to my new patient consultation and have not received a response and probably won’t.
