My experience with Dr. Hochstein’s office was deeply upsetting, and I would not recommend this practice. On December 21, I emailed the office requesting additional information because I was genuinely anxious about my upcoming surgery. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, Daisy told me word for word that “if you have that mentality, you better cancel and get your refund.” This felt dismissive and inappropriate. The doctor later called me directly. I was still willing to proceed and did not intend to cancel. However, during the conversation, he stated that he is famous and that is why he receives complaints. None of my concerns were properly resolved, and I did not feel reassured. Following Daisy’s suggestion, I sent an email confirming that I would cancel and receive a refund. However, I was later told that the doctor had changed his mind, that they would not issue a refund, and that since he is the owner, his word is final. Despite their initial statement offering a refund, they have refused to return my money, now claiming that I signed documents. This is contradictory to what was communicated to me directly by their staff. Because of this, I am currently pursuing legal action regarding the refund. I ultimately chose to proceed with another surgeon who met with me multiple times prior to surgery, answered all my questions thoroughly, and made me feel informed and safe. When it comes to surgery, communication, transparency, and respect are essential. Unfortunately, this office did not provide that experience.
