Stephanie Cantu review for Avenue Five Institute

First of all, the esty who worked on my face did a great job aside from the fact that: I said multiple times in my intake that I was allergic to wheat. she went to confirm nothing she was going to use had wheat in it, but after the facial low and behold the face lotion she used had wheat germ in it. the guy at the front desk told me that foods you eat don't have the same allergic reaction when used on the skin. completely wrong. my face does and did get irritated with exposure to wheat. Second of all, do NOT ever go here for a lash lift. waste of money and time. Yes $50 is very reasonable, but it doesn't excuse the technician in training to not give a shit and actually not even follow protocols correctly. I was laying down less than 30 minutes before she was handing me a mirror to ask what I thought. Completely underwhelming job and lift/tint. I had to be the one to ask if that was it. She didn't offer a spoolie for me to brush out lashes, didn't give me any 'don't wet for 24 hrs' post procedure instructions. It was like she was offended that she did such a bad job. When I mentioned it to the person ringing me up, I could tell he was trying to be polite and listen to my grievances. But he honestly could care less about my lashes. Getting home a few hours later, I'm beyond infuriated that I paid for the lash lift. There is zero lift and the tint barely covers the front part of the lashes and only the ones in the middle got the bulk of the tint. i've gotten more lift from plain old mascara. The most disappointing part of the experience is that the people working there make you feel like you're nuts for saying anything at all or wanting to provide feedback. "Well this is a school." should not be the response to give to paying customers when the technician/student f's up. I've been to many student salons and had many a facial and lash lift from student salons annnnd this is not it. I hope someone can make this right. As a school sending licensed estheticians out into the world, I sincerely hope you all are taking allergies of all kinds, and misstepping protocols when it comes to chemicals seriously.
